Der AfD-Bundestagsabgeordnete Martin Sichert darf bei der Landratswahl im Landkreis Friesland nicht antreten. Ein Wahlausschuss hat seine Kandidatur mit fünf zu einer Stimme zurückgewiesen. Damit setzt sich eine Entwicklung fort, die spätestens seit dem Ausschluss Joachim Pauls von der Oberbürgermeisterwahl in Ludwigshafen nicht mehr als regionaler Einzelfall abgetan werden kann. Es geht um eine demokratische Grundsatzfrage: Wer entscheidet darüber, welche politischen Bewerber den Bürgern überhaupt noch zur Wahl gestellt werden dürfen?
