Juristen stehen in jedem Staat für Recht und Ordnung – doch was geschieht, wenn das Recht nicht mehr der Gerechtigkeit dient, sondern als Werkzeug der Unterdrückung missbraucht wird? Sowohl im Nationalsozialismus als auch in der DDR spielten Juristen eine entscheidende Rolle dabei, das jeweilige Unrechtsregime zu stabilisieren und durchzusetzen. Während das Recht in demokratischen Staaten dazu dient, Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit zu garantieren, wurde es in diesen beiden Diktaturen zu einem Herrschaftsinstrument, das Repression, Verfolgung und Unterdrückung legitimierte.
