Am 9.1.2026 berichteten wir über die "Freien Wähler Limburg" und deren Erfolg im Sammeln von Unterstützerunterschriften. Unsere Recherche führte dabei zu einer Veranstaltung des Ausländerbeirats der Stadt Limburg in der Sandzak Moschee im Limburger Stadtteil Dietkirchen. Dort fand am 19.12.2025 eine Vortragsveranstaltung mit dem Titel "Gaza besser verstehen" statt. Ob die "Freien Wähler Limburg" diese Veranstaltung tatsächlich zum Sammeln von Unterstützerunterschriften genutzt haben, ist weiter unklar. Anfragen unserer Redaktion an die "Freien Wähler Limburg" blieben bis heute unbeantwortet.

Am 06. Januar 2026 posteten die Freien Wähler Limburg auf Facebook eine Erfolgsmeldung: Nachdem man mehr als 200 Unterstützerunterschriften, vorwiegend von Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, "an einem Wochenende" gesammelt hat, können die "Freien Wähler" bei der Hessischen Kommunalwahl antreten. Begleitet wird der Post von Bildern, die offenbar zeigen sollen, wo und wie man diese Unterstützung erreicht hat.

Diese Meldung wirft jedoch Fragen auf: warum müssen die Freien Wähler überhaupt Unterstützerunterschriften sammeln, da die Partei doch bereits mit einer Fraktion im aktuellen Kreistag vertreten ist? Warum finden sich auf den Bildern ganz überwiegend "muslimisch gelesene" Menschen und praktisch keine Frauen? Stammen die Bilder überhaupt von einer Parteiveranstaltung? Und welche Rolle spielt dabei Mustafa Yüce?
