Der Fingerklopfer ist in den vergangenen Jahren gewachsen – thematisch, journalistisch und in seiner öffentlichen Wahrnehmung.

Entstanden ist dieses Projekt in einer Zeit, in der viele Bürger das Bedürfnis hatten, politische Entscheidungen kritisch zu hinterfragen und Informationen eigenständig einzuordnen. Was zunächst aus der Auseinandersetzung mit den Corona-Maßnahmen entstand, hat sich Schritt für Schritt zu einem unabhängigen journalistischen Angebot mit einem deutlich breiteren Schwerpunkt entwickelt.

Heute recherchiert der Fingerklopfer zu kommunalpolitischen Themen, wertet Kreistagsunterlagen aus, stellt Presse- und Informationsfreiheitsanfragen, führt Interviews und berichtet über Entwicklungen, die nach unserer Auffassung eine größere öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit verdienen.

Dabei galten für unsere Arbeit von Anfang an Grundsätze wie sorgfältige Recherche, Quellenoffenheit, die Möglichkeit zur Stellungnahme sowie eine klare Trennung zwischen Nachricht und Kommentar. Diese Maßstäbe sind bereits seit längerem im Impressum des Fingerklopfers dokumentiert.
