Am 31. Januar 2021 findet in Westerburg eine "Mahnwache für Corona-Opfer" statt. Damit möchten die christlichen Kirchengemeinden in Westerburg eine Zeichen "für Solidarität und Respekt" setzen und ihre Ablehnung der "Spaziergänger" zum Ausdruck bringen. Ähnliche Aktionen und Gegenproteste werden derzeit in vielen Orten und von Kirchen, der Lokalpolitik oder "Bündnissen gegen rechts" durchgeführt. Der nachfolgende, offene Brief richtet sich deshalb nicht nur an die beiden Kirchengemeinden in Westerburg, sondern alle oben genannten Gruppierungen, die aktuell gegen die Montagsproteste mobil machen, dürfen sich angesprochen fühlen.
